pictures and stuff

When you go on a trip to a place you've never been before, and you are pretty sure you won't be back for years, you take a whole lot of pictures. When you have a baby and everyone comes to visit, and you want to remember the first few days at home, you take a whole lot of pictures. Well add those two events together and what do you get? Way too many pictures. I went through my Picasa and only choose the shots I absolutely couldn't live without. There are now 596 prints coming from Shutterfly.

My camera was acting a little wacky so we sent it to New England this week. The warranty runs out next month so Matt wanted to get it looked at now. I am surprised at how much I miss it. There are many things happening this week I wanted pictures of: the Derek Webb concert, Roscoe's birthday, meeting a new baby at the hospital, greeting a new baby at the airport, and on it goes.

This is for real.....I saw him too!

Happy St.Pat's Day!

This has been a great weekend. I went to SDC (yes they're open!) yesterday with Lisa C. and Jenny. We had all our kids in tow minus Henry. It was fun but a little cooler than we had anticipated. I was worn out when I got home so we put the kids to bed early. Mandy and Bradley came over and we watched a couple episodes of Grey's. We are halfway done with season 2. Woke up this morning and forgot it was St. Patrick's. None of us wore green. Oh well. Went to Sam's to get a new tire since we ran over a key and punctured ours last week. They were able to fix the tire and they didn't charge us a thing. What a blessing! Went to Randy Bacon's studio and picked up our family pictures. I'm not sure how exactly I'm supposed to choose from the 140 shots. I'll be asking for your opinions. Went to the Delta class crazy bridge party. So much fun! Cindy made these really good Filipino things that looked like spring rolls. I ate so many, I made myself sick. Tonight was the first time I'd left Ollie for longer than an hour. I think it was harder on me than him. We are starting a new Bible study tomorrow in S.S. I'm excited about that. Then lunch at Tom and Laura's. Spaghetti and Tom's famous meatballs. We love meatballs!

And that's that.

Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold.

We used to sing that song in Brownies. I thought the words were "make new friends, but keep them old," and I could never figure out how I was supposed to make my friends old!

It has occured to me these past few weeks that God has sent me more new friends this year than in the past 3 combined. I'm just so thrilled with each and everyone of them that I thought I'd do a little tribute. An ode, if you will. Now don't get me wrong, I love all my "old" friends but that is another day.

In no particular order......

Linette -Who knew a brief encounter at Border's storytime could blossom into this? She has been a great friend to me and I so value her wisdom as someone who has "been there, done that."

Heather - She has had the patience of Job these last 2 years! She is waiting for her long overdue travel call so she can fly to Korea and pick up her little Emalee. She is a prayer warrior and if neither family moves out of the Truman district (and why would they?) her daughter will provide a Korean classmate for Sam Demers.

Holly- I know I knew her before this year but we didn't have the "hang out on the weekends, chat on the phone" friendship we do now. She is the most benevolent person I know, she recycles, and she could beat up any guy with her mad cop skills.

Brandy- She is always smiling and cheerful. So much fun to be around. If her son gets his way, we will one day be related by marriage.

Shannon- So sweet and I have so much fun dicussing the ins and outs of Korean adoption with her. I can't wait to meet her new daughter at the airport next Thursday.

Lotz and Dane- I knew Lotz last year but I can't say I really liked him. That was a bad decision on my part. (He knows all about it!) Very funny guy and I do love that Dane. They will make the best parents.

Ansley- Oh where would I be without her? My west coast BFF. We were in process side-by-side for months. Now we have our babies home and all is right. You all will probably never meet her but if you know Kendra R., you know her. They are so same-same it's uncanny.

Did I forget anyone? Probably, as I am a very forgetful person. That's all for now!

This just might be a great week because......

1. Due to various dinner invitations, I am only having to cook once this week.

2. Because we had company yesterday, I cleaned my house on Saturday. Matt even mopped and waxed my kitchen floor for me. So, I don't need to clean this week.

3. I already grocery shopped on Saturday so that's done.

4. It's supposed to be beautiful weather.

5. The only appointments marked on our calender for this week are playdates.

Yes, it's going to be a great week.

We want your junk!

What do the 2 girls on the left need? A new baby brother from Korea!
Help us bring Sam home.
We are having a huge garage sale in the High Street gym the last weekend in April.
All money goes toward the Demers' adoption.
Please let Jen or I know if you have any stuff you would like to donate.
No matter how large or small, we will pick it up.
It's a great way to get rid of your clutter and support a great cause all at the same time!

my tip for you.......

Waterless hand sanitizer (like GermX) takes grease stains out of your clothes. Go try it.

This is embarassing.....

So I have sent out around 60 thank-you cards these past few weeks. Half of them were the regular rectangle cards. The other half were these really cool square paisley cards that did NOT look over sized to me. Well, I was notified this morning that the square cards were in fact over sized and they arrived at the recipients' mailboxes with postage due. If you were one of the unfortunate 30 who had to fork over .13 before you could read the note, I am truly sorry.

Old McHenry is 1!

This time last year, we were sitting outside the delivery room listening to your mama yell cause you were a stuck boy. Now look at you! I would say, you are definately worth what you put her through. Could you be any cuter, Henry?
p.s.- Barrett, you are gonna be such a great dad.
