first family night

If you are fan of blog star Heather like I am, you know all about her fab family nights. I've been meaning to do one for awhile and we finally made it happen. The girls were all about wearing their bathing suits last week so we had a beach party. Someone woke up from his nap angry and did NOT feel like participating in the dress code.

The kids dined on octopus atop the sea. It goes against all I hold dear in regard to nutrition and feeding my children well to give them hot dogs and ramen for dinner. But to keep with a theme, I will bend the rules.

We introduced the kids to The Beach Boys which was fun since they will be at the fair this year. I can't wait to do a family night again. Thanks Heather for the inspiration!

If you do not do hot dogs, what is going to happen when they want a Slaw Dog?

Ramen noodles and hot dogs... that is a rule breaker, but way too cool to matter.

If you make that particular dish again, try using spaghetti squash instead of ramen noodles. It's super easy to make. Just cut a spaghetti squash in half and scoop out the seeds. Place halves face down in a baking dish and bake for an hour at 350 degrees. I'm not sure how it would take to green dye though.
